Rose Villa works to foster a sustainable environment and culture that treads lightly on the earth, starting with our corner of it. This includes a commitment to eco-friendly design. We are proud to offer two Zero Energy Independent Living neighborhoods, The Oaks and Trillium Townhomes. These homes are built to Passive House standards, a designation that signifies that the homes produce enough energy to offset their energy use over the course of a year.
From our innovative greywater reclamation and water conservation system, to our comprehensive campus-wide composting and recycling programs, we strive to incorporate ecologically sound and socially responsible practices into everything we do. We are committed to maintaining a sustainable community for everyone who lives, works and visits here!
The Rose Villa Green Team is a resident-run group that provides leadership and collaboration in order to promote policies and programs that address the impacts of climate change and contribute to the institutional resilience of our community.
The Green Team's “Bringing Nature Home” initiative promotes practicing “naturescaping” as an essential part of creating livable communities that are built on healthy environments, utilizing native plants and low-impact foliage in our campus landscape. Thanks to The Green Team and their partnership with our Grounds services, our campus is Backyard Habitat Certified.
